Midas by the John Turville Trio

The debut release from the John Turville Trio, recorded in Artesuono Studio in Italy which went on to win the promoters choice award in 2009 and ‘Album of The Year’ in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2010. Midas is an album of originals, inspired by Fly Trio and the classic piano trios of John Taylor and Bill Evans, apart from a couple of standards and Nick Drake’s ‘Fruit Tree’ also featuring the incredible Brigitte Beraha.

‘Midas is high-end piano trio jazz, beautifully recorded […] resonating with the work of Keith Jarrett and John Taylor without denying the group’s considerable individuality […] who wheel and curve through the shape shifting music as one.’
